Aprende a hablar de acciones que están ocurriendo en el momento de hablar. El Presente Continuo es esencial para describir lo que estás haciendo ahora o lo que está sucediendo en este momento.
El Presente Continuo (Present Continuous) se usa para hablar de acciones que están ocurriendo en el momento de hablar o que están en progreso durante un período de tiempo.
I am studying English now.
Yo estoy estudiando inglés ahora.
She is working in the office.
Ella está trabajando en la oficina.
They are living in Madrid this year.
Ellos están viviendo en Madrid este año.
We are learning to cook.
Nosotros estamos aprendiendo a cocinar.
No se usa con verbos de estado o emoción:
❌ I am knowing the answer.
✅ I know the answer.
❌ She is loving chocolate.
✅ She loves chocolate.
Verbos comunes que NO usan -ing: know, love, like, want, need, understand, believe.
- I am reading a book.
- She is cooking dinner.
- They are playing soccer.
El Presente Continuo describe acciones que están en progreso, no acciones habituales o permanentes.

El Presente Continuo se forma con el verbo "to be" + el verbo principal con terminación "-ing". Es una estructura muy regular y fácil de aprender.

Se duplica la consonante final:
Se elimina la "e" final:
Se cambia "ie" por "y":

Al igual que el Presente Simple, el Presente Continuo también tiene formas negativas e interrogativas. La estructura cambia ligeramente para adaptarse a la forma continua.

Nota: "am not" = "I'm not", "are not" = "aren't", "is not" = "isn't"

En el Presente Continuo, el verbo "to be" cambia según el sujeto, pero el verbo principal siempre lleva -ing.
